Dear Head Start Parents:

In line with the COVID-19 virus prevention plans, and with the current information from Governor Brown’s Office that all public schools will be closed until April 28th, MCCDC will also be suspending all classroom services for Head Start during that time.  We are putting preventive measures in place to keep you and your child healthy.

We do want you to know that we are thinking about your and your family during this pandemic.  Over the next couple of weeks, you will be hearing from classroom staff at the center you child attends school.  We will be doing this to check on you and your family.

We will also be sending you information about educational activities you can continue to do with you child at home during this time of closure.

I am hoping that we will not have to extend the closure any longer than it currently is.  If the public schools continue to be shut down, Head Start will likewise be closed down.  If so, I will send you out another letter, and staff will continue to touch bases with you.  Once the public schools are back in operation, we will also start school back up on the same schedule your child was in attendance before the closure.

If you have any further questions you can always e-mail your On-Site-Coordinator.  They should each have remote access to their e-mail so that they can respond back to you.

Wishing you all the best, and hope that you and your family can stay safe during this time!
